Chada Katavi is a small, intimate camp with 6 spacious and comfortable Safari tents. Each tent has open fronts giving a panoramic view of the plains. The tents blend into the environment, so much so that you would not need to leave your tents to see all kinds of game around the camp. Elephants are frequent visitors, attracted by the shady fruit trees.
Chada Katavi Camp is a simple bush camp design with rooms simple décor. The tents are en- suite via zipped flaps and consist of all eco-flush toilets and bucket safari showers. Hot water is available on request.
In a clearing you would find a dining tent and a library with comfortable enabling you to relax and soak up the bush air around you. Here you are in the real wild Africa but with style. An evening drink around the camp fire is the essence of the safari feel whicle you discuss the days activities and sightings with your colleagues.
Katavi is known for its amazing walking safari experiences, you need a good pair of boots as you would not want to stop. You are accompanied with your guide and a armed ranger and can find yourself watching Elephants , meander along the river bank and see hippos and crocodiles alond with amazing bird watching.
Walk back to your fly camp where you can spend the night under the stars under the mosquito netted tent, small but enough space for bedroll kitted out with mattress, pillow and sheets. You would have a full 3 course meal under candle light whilst listening to the wildlife coming alive at night. Fly camping needs to be booked in advance.
Children over 12 years are welcome. The camp is open from June to Mid November
